What Happened with Zeitgeist Media Festival 2013?

Hi, I have been following the Zeitgeist Movement since late 2009.

I got one e-mail about the Media Festival in July and then I have not seen anything updated about the event.

I have looked on You Tube, Vimeo and TZM website. Even this forum has not had a relevant post in over two weeks.

I want to connect with Zeitgeist activists in the Santa Ana California area.

I went to a very small Z-day gathering for OC Zeitgeist chapter in 2011 and that seems quite inactive?

Hope someone will get back to me.

    Woody

I was wondering the same thing regarding the whole movement lately as no updates even for orientation guide have been made. There is obviously also no activity regarding global redesign institute as noone posts anything regarding progress. The movement urgently needs at least clear message and orientation (described in orientation guide) and also provide a place (online platform) where project leaders can connects with people who are willing to participate. There is nothing going on in in the "create" part of the movement and nothing giung on regarding engaging group mind which would enable the movement to constantly create new ideas and solutions to our problems using large number of members.

I got an impression that only a small group of people try to do everything in the movement and everyone else is excluded (I could not reach anyone when proposing one project). Also people willing to start new projects only write about them on forums and nothing happens.

I am quite disappointed and quite disinterested regarding the movement as I realized that no evolution of the movement is currently possible. And probably others think the same which could be the reason for the inactivity which you also noticed.

WoodyWave and Luka, what kind of projects would you like to see happening? Do you have any preference in the activities that you would be willing to participate in? If you can give a sense of what you're interested in doing, it will be easier for people to help you find a niche in a suitable project. There are very few people willing to dive in and do the hard work it will take to develop an RBE. Endless Hard Work, and only a little bit of it is any fun. But if you're willing, I assure you there's work to be done.

Lets not be ahead of ourselves: creating an RBE is distant future. For now, projects which would make the movement more credible and able to create solutions would for now be quite enough.

I posted my proposed project under "global redesign institute" thread. Proposed platform would be an addition to global redesign institute currently in development. However, when I at least wanted some feedback from someone, no one replied (sending it to chapters and webmaster). What I want to point out is that movement does not allow anyone to make any additions to current structure and even more frustrating is that nothing has been done for at least half a year regarding orientation of the movement. Not mentioning only words about global redesign institute and so far nothing done and noone able to participate in the making of it.

Point is that group mind and group effort is needed for the movement to succeed and so far no one is able to do anything.

Personally I don't know how this was possible. Between the facebook event page, the youtube channel, zmca.org, the LA chapter & their website, plus the
The Zeitgeist Media Festival , along with the 8-hour webcast and the Blogtalk Radio show (TZM Global Radio)..

I don't know how one could not find any info updates.

To make it easy here are the places one could have looked:

All had news & updates about the event throughout July & August. And the activity continues...

'Creating solutions' as you put it is the first step toward an RBE. That's not distant future, that's today, right now.

That's not quite correct. It seems you were looking for permission to proceed with an idea, from people who don't have the authority to give that permission because TZM is not a hierarchy. There is nobody at the top deciding what projects are allowed. I looked at your proposal - you had an idea, and an offer of help from a skilled member. That was a pretty good start. You should have followed through with your plan, as best you could. If you can show it's a good idea, the project will probably gradually accumulate people. And if not, so be it. There's no shortage of problems to solve, you can always just move on to the next one. I happen to think you were addressing a key issue in part of your proposal. The movement is desperately lacking a sound structure for making decisions, because nobody wants a hierarchy and that's the only effective way most people know how to get things done. It's a major obstacle to progress.

I do things every day that bring the RBE a little closer, and that does not include anything I post or read here in the forum. My areas of focus are group decision-making and automation of agriculture. There is nothing preventing me from working on those things, and there are no obstacles to your own RBE work. Slow progress is still progress, and it's the best we can hope for at this stage.

The movement seems to have no shortage of ideas for projects but very few willing to help setup a chapter in their area or volunteer to help with administrative tasks. Sometimes we do what we have to do in order to do what we want to do. STEP UP and do what needs to be done.

I agree, I am a Project manager for a civil contracting company and I do what little things I can to move towards a RBE. I try and look for things to implement here at work that will do so, the trick is also making it good for the company haha. But we can all make a bunch of small differences alone to make one big difference together!

S-cape if your looking to get involved were starting a co-op lending company. We could sure could use your help! I dont believe that there is going to be one big group or one big corporation that decides to fix everything, its going to take little groups all over the world that can eventually band together for world dominance... or a RBE I mean.
