    Don't waste your time

If you're writing a post that takes a lot of careful thought and articulation, descriptions, links etc and a lot of time, say, I dunno, over 2 and a half HOURS. Make sure you copy all the text to notepad or something because if you time out, the auto save feature is not reliable....... Trust me

Ouch. I hate when that happens. Sorry the dreaded logout ate your text. It doesn't ease the frustration but we've all been there.

    Yup...

But at least now you have a basic outline on what you wanted to write.
    So, do proceed

Don't forget to Stay Signed In.

And it's also a great idea to Save your work somewhere if you plan to write a Long post. It's also nice to have it saved so you can work on it for as long as you need and post when ready.

I've been burned so many times I instinctively periodically copy any long posts I'm making to my clipboard as I'm trying them out.

True. I think a lot of us have had a similar experience before.

Why exactly is there a timeout after only 2 hours?
