Lightbulb Max Keiser & Startcoin as the currency of the Zeitgeist Movement

On the most recent Radio Q&A PJ described how Vegan-ism is equal to universal income and other micro fixes, but not enough by itself to have a decisive effect on the macro issue of value system disorder. This seems highly subjective to me, who can say what it will be that tips the balance and alters the course of the Global Zeitgeist? Maybe enough people becoming vegan, maybe enough people receiving universal income, maybe a single act by a single artist or musician which inspires enough people, who can say? What is certain is that all kind acts and non violent progress contribute to the changing of the zeitgeist as a matter of degree.

Startcoin was invented by Max Keiser and its intention is to act as a decentralized currency, and ultimately become a universal Basic Income of sorts. A crowd funding mechanism to promote access abundance and creativity.

After a long discussion with Max we agreed that if i could use his crowdfunding platform to fund a video feature concerning Startcoin, the zeitgeist movement, ephemeralization (which would comprise interviews and discussions with him on those subjects, as well as any other relevant clips and quotes) It might create a good angle to get a representative of TZM to be a guest on Keiser Report.

I gave Max a copy Of TZM defined, he is a big fan of Bucky Fuller. He is interested by TZM but he feels that the movement holds crypto-currency in a negative light, and I don't think that's any more true than the statement that the movement holds vegan-ism in a negative light. It can do some good but its not the "be all and end all" as we say in Great Britain (GB is a geographical distinction btw, not a national one)
If the movement can come forward and show some encouragement for this crowdfunding concept as well as veganism, startcoin, permaculture and so on, it will strengthen our bonds with other groups, it will show our diversity, our ability to go beyond splitting hairs and elitism, and our ability to show warmth and encouragement to anyone trying to improve this tragedy on earth, now matter how big or small their contributions are.

Any thoughts, criticisms, ideas or inquiries would be very welcome
We are all one, and if we don't figure that out, we're going to have to find out the hard way

Startcoin, Zeitcoin and The Zeitgeist Movement

There is already a purpose-built cryptocurrency that was created for use by The Zeitgeist Movement. Zeitcoin was originally designed by followers of the The Zeitgeist Movement to be used as a method of barter; as an alternative to fiat currencies. Initial contact with TZM a year ago was disappointing. Apparently cryptocurrencies were frowned upon by some TZM leaders. Undaunted Zeitcoin has continued, supported by a strong community and has stood the test of time. Perhaps it is now time for The Zeitgeist Movement to have another look at the advantages of Zeitcoin and its potential to the Movement.

Zeitcoin is environmentally sound. Since Zeitcoin is a Proof of Stake (POS) coin it uses far less resources and energy than Startcoin does. Startcoin is a Proof of Work (POW) coin - and requires just that - WORK. Expensive and powerful mining rigs to mine and maintain the coin.

In comparison, Zeitcoins can be minted at a current rate of 20% pa, paid every 30 days, by simply opening up a Zeitcoin wallet on an ordinary computer, syncing with the network and minting for a short while. Zeitcoin is multinational and has one of the best and most dedicated of developers around. For lots of friendly advice from a knowledgeable and TZM friendly community check out our forum at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.0

There you will find out how to download wallets, obtain Zeitcoins and try out the Zeitcoin experience. Hope to see you there!

Thanks, zeitcoin looks great. Hopefully ephemeralization will put startcoin on an equal pegging with zeitcoin in terms of eco friendliness.
Startcoin also has some advantages over zeitcoin. I made an edit of Peter Joseph recent Radio address which attempts to show why the movement should look more
favorably on Cryptocurrency, specifically bitcoin and some alt-coins

Ephemeralization, a term coined by R. Buckminster Fuller, is the ability of technological advancement to do "more and more with less and less until eventually you can do everything with nothing". I had to look that one up to associate its meaning to crypto-currencies!

According to the renowned crypto-expert, Vitalik Buterin, POS is the future. That is where Zeitcoin is. If TZM is the hand, then Zeitcoin is the glove. Some in the Zeitcoin Movement (ZCM!) might say it is the other way around.

I suspect that we are fighting the same battle: trying to convince the world at large of the good sense in adopting viable alternatives to fiat currencies. Nice try in endeavoring to spread the word, but as Max himself has recognised, TZM is likely to be stoney ground where crypto-currencies are concerned. Let's hope that the seeds we have planted here find fertile imaginations.

"Doing everything with nothing." Ephemeralization is already here. It is called "in-your-dreams!" Good luck!

I think crypto currencies are great tools for decentralization and to go against the current elite and status quo. However, there are differences between basic income ideas and crypto currency ideas. I have to mention here that BOTH ideas are basically going AGAINST the TZM main train of thought! It's important to keep this in mind. Basic income could potentially give activists a lot more time to organize and bring about change BUT as long as basic income is dependent on politics and or the rich, let's be honest here, it won't be a good solution for those that NEED to rely on it to live. If basic income will ever happen, which it actually probably will, then we'll get to a point where most will be dependent on it to survive and still politicians and the rich will be in control of it. The elite will want to keep everyone on it to and KEEP the monetary system going to once again be able to hold on to their POWER. NOT an ideal scenario!!! Again, only advantage will be that activists will MAYBE have more time. Looking at history though the elite will make sure to keep the masses busy with something and discredit or do away otherwise with those who don't play along. Again, crypto currencies have some advantages, as mentioned earlier, but none specific to TZM but basically countering their main LONG-TERM goals. Crypto currencies are an Ancap wet dream. No regulation and great for business! Got to run right now but I will explain further later.

Inevitably to be able to transition away from the money system, in a manner that does not require violence or coercive manipulative techniques, it will require specific technological solutions to handle the functions of government and specific technological solutions to handle the functions of business. The private banking system has to much control over resource allocation. We have to shift that power away from the private banking system to be a public banking system. The only way to do that, is to take all the banking processes and automate them. To keep it decentralized the process must be open sourced. Bitcoin provides a good initial framework approach.

Here is the logic used. With an automated open sourced centralized banking system, science can work in the necessary protocols with regards to life needs infrastructure development of what should get priority. Once it is realized money is no longer needed, this would be a far easier setup to replace as the technological infrastructure that supports the life needs will have been developed to make option of removal more palatable to the population.

I agree with decentralization and that we need a public banking system. My fear is though, as this would give people more power, it would give even more power to big corporations and it would be harder to regulate them! But I wonder how this could help countries like Greece?

If the private banking system is in the hands of the public, that means controlled by AI scientific protocols and maintained by the open source development approach, then the lending process (principal plus interest) will return the interest to the people. The protocols will be meant to ensure loans are used by capital borrowers are for the development of the life needs infrastructure intended to alleviate the need for individuals to go into debt. If capital controllers are using technology and automation to cut down labor, the same process can be used to cut out capital ownership.

    Eradicating corrupt financial systems

We don't need to intellectualise about this too much. The concept is simple. Think of it like this:

In the cryptocurrency world there is no central banking system. Therefore one of mankind's greatest ills is cured in one go. This diseased, one-sided system withers more-and-more, as more-and-more people see the light of this Brave New cryptocurrency World. Isn't that one of TZM's supreme goals?

A crypto-wallet that belongs to you is your bank. You are your own banker. There are no banking fees. You can send any amount to any crypto-address in the world for virtually nothing. You have your own piece of 'land' on the Blockchain. On that piece of land you can harvest, mine and create new coins. The Blockchain is maintained by a worldwide network of computers belonging to like-minded souls. The blockchain is the public ledger. It records all transactions and is it is potentially capable of doing much, much more as the technology advances e.g. smart contracts.

You can have an online wallet, or you can download a wallet onto a computer, mobile device, have one encrypted onto a piece of paper, plastic card, or even have one tattooed onto your arse if you so wish (not recommended). You can get crowdfunding for projects that you want to get off the ground by pitching them to like-minded people. So if you want to try cryptos, which ones should you choose?

    I would recommend:

Bitcoin. You can get an online wallet from https://blockchain.info/wallet

You can download a Bitcoin wallet onto your computer, but try the online version first to get the feel of it. Bitcoin is the brand leader. You can acquire and use it all around the world.

Startcoin: online wallet available from https://www.startjoin.com/

Startcoin is the King of crypto-crowdfunding and has a large, enthusiastic community. Its figurehead and CEO is Max Keiser. Of all the altcoins, this is the one to watch. It is about to become big.

Bitcoin and Startcoin are Proof of Work (POW) coins. To mine them these days you have to invest in expensive rigs that use a lot of power. In contrast, Proof of Stake (POS) coins use very little power. You can harvest and create new coins by simply opening your wallet to sync with the network at a time when your existing coins have 'matured'. Maturation can take anything from 7days to 30days depending on the coin that you are with. My personal view is that it is good to 'hedge' with a POS coin that creates more coins for you, for virtually no effort. Remember R. Buckminster Fuller?

Which POS coins would I recommend? Without hesitation:

Hobonickels. Wallet available from HoboNickels Crypto-Currency - Official Website - Home

Hobonickels is maintained by one of the world's most talented and trusted of developers. The original hobonickels were created by travellers who modified solid nickels into miniature works of art, thereby creating greater value out of something of comparative little worth.

and of course, last, but not least:

Zeitcoin. Wallets available from Zeitcoin | Digital Currency
    Zeitcoin community: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=487814.0

Zeitcoin is also maintained by a talented and trusted developer. Zeitcoin has one of the most vibrant and helpful of communities around. It was created by TZM followers with TZM in mind. It is possibly the easiest of all the POS coins to mint new coins with and has been designed to be energy efficient. Just open your wallet every now-and-then and newly minted coins just flood in. Coins mature for minting after 30 days at an interest rate of 20% pa. Zeitcoins can still be bought very cheaply - a million for the cost of a pint of beer, or a cheap bottle of wine. Stick that million into a wallet and watch it grow! Zeitcoin is one of the few coins that have substantially increased in value over the last six months. No other coin mentioned on this page can claim that.

Where to convert your filthy fiat into the crypto of your choice? I would recommend these agencies:

    For Bitcoin:
    https://localbitcoins.com/ (worldwide)
    https://bittylicious.com/ (UK and Europe)

For Bitcoin and the alternative cryptocurrencies:

    Cryptsy - https://www.cryptsy.com/users/register?refid=297030

    Bittrex - https://bittrex.com/

    Poloniex - https://www.poloniex.com/

It is time TZM embraced cryptocurrencies with open arms. They are the only tools that will effectively break the shackles of the financial institutions that stifle and impoverish mankind.

Many people in the tzm and elsewhere associate money with negativity... I agree that currency can be used for good things.
I initially really liked the idea of bitcoin, and bought some. but i have a few problems with it:

    1. you can mostly use it online, you can't buy milk or bread with it.
    2. It seems it has been hijacked by speculators - people who are in it just to make a buck.
    3. Most of the bitcoin evangelists are anarcho-capitalists, who see the bitcoin system as a way to avoid taxes and regulation.
    4. Bitcoin advocates allways say its open-source. open-source doesn't mean anything unless you can read the code, which 99% of the population can't do.
    5. the system is too complex for the average person, hopefully it will improve over time.
    6. in order to buy and sell bitcoins you need to connect your bitcoin wallet to a valid bank account, which loses the purpose of a decentralize currency in the first place, no? if banks have control over buying and selling bitcoins isn't it a problem?
