    Cool thanks for the information.

Flashbacks to what? You mean you used to be on RPF forum or something?

In some cases yes; but these kinds of people are the people we should be paying attention to, because they reveal how many people might be thinking and why. We need to read what they say, pay attention to & understand what their agruments or positions are, and either be able to come back with a rebuttal they can respect & appreciate, or deal with the idea that they have a valid point or issue we'll need to contend with, whether it's explaining things better or coming to terms with other possibilities.

For example, I see a lot of the "if people would all just...(blah blah blah)...then we'll be able to make an RBE happen" kind of stuff. Well, suppose people don't all just "blah blah blah" (whatever that is or might be)? Does that mean an RBE won't happen? That seems like a possibility because it's not excluded. Instead, we need to be able to say here's why an RBE can happen without having to rely on "if people would all jus...(blah blah blah)" to make it happen.
I'm talking about people choosing to make changes to their behavior in the hopes that everyone else will also choose to make changes to their behaviors in order to make an RBE happen. What I'm saying is that without the implementation of automation, robotics, and other advancements in technology to eliminate things like the need for manual labor or other forms of work, I'm not going to pretent like I think we should expect the transition to happen by relying on everyone to go along with making changes to their behavior in order to make the transition happen. The environment needs to change (i.e., no more need for manual labor or most other forms of work) in order for people to change their behavior; not the other way around.

I'm not sure if this would apply to them; what you're describing here is something that applies to Luddite types. When people need jobs to put food on plates & roofs over the heads of their families and technology takes away something they need, it's that problem that they're concerned with. On the other hand, if technology eliminates the need for jobs and actually helps put food on plates & roofs over the heads of their families, they would welcome it rather than denounce it.

I'm not sure what the status is, but I also don't get the impression financial reasons are preventing things. If so, they could probably do a crowdfunding campaign and I think they'd probably do fairly well with that.

New PJ production? He had some things he was working on that he scrapped, but I don't know if that's what you're referring to or something else.

No I just meant that having discussions in the past with people who talked like this reminded me of that. Interesting to say the least. But I'm interested in Human Psychology so I use it as a Learning experience.

I totally agree with you about trying to understand where they're coming from so we can better Communicate & Share ideas with them. It's Important that we find those areas of agreement so we can improve our way explaining things to each other and not completely shut each other down when we feel we are too far apart in our beliefs. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but we should never just give up. Although there are sometimes those with a Serious case of 'Mind Lock' that maybe you take a break from but eventually come back later with a Better plan.

Perhaps it is just easier to write about something bad happening, than something good happening.

Offhand I see now reason why good couldn't be interesting, as didn't the old Disney movies tend towards that kind of thing ?

In theory we could do some short animated pieces of work, not unlike say:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_the_Sheep

An example of a Utopian TV series perhaps. ;-)

Oddly I already live partly in the future where I am, except the robots haven't taken over yet, so you have to do all the work yourself. :-)

If we produced some RBE short entertainment videos, collaborated on that from all over the world, it could help to show what is possible if we cooperate, and entertain at the same time.

If this story was made into a film, would it not be Utopian ?
