I'm so glad I discovered TZM!
For the record, this is my first Forum topic, and I'm still very new to this, so apologies if these kinds of topics are out-of-place on this Forum.
Yet, I made the choice to post this anyways as sort of an introduction and a first step to 'joining' TZM, by the off-chance that these kinds of topics are absolutely fine, although the Forum rules didn't indicate that the way I saw it.
I first learned about The Zeitgeist Movement when my older brother showed me the documentary movies, and I was absolutely shocked! It was like the world I've perceived and assumed throughout my life was turned upside-down in a few hours, and TZM's goal of a NLRBE was something I became extremely interested in. So much so that I ordered the book "The Zeitgeist Movement Defined: Realizing a New Train of Thought" from Amazon. I wanted to learn as much about this as I could, for potential future preparations and for spreading the ideas around, and I'm quite satisfied with having recently completed reading the book.
I just- I can't believe that so few people even know or believe the state our society is in, and how difficult it really doesn't need to be to make way for incredible changes, changes the world desperately needs! I want to help spread the word around about TZM's amazing potential, because I truly believe that this is the single biggest problem in the entire world!
So, since this is my first topic and I'm not really sure how things work here yet, I thought I'd include some questions here as well, as posting those as separate topics might be something I'll later find to be against Forum guidelines.
First off, how am I to properly convey the ideas of TZM to best convince others and to deal with objections? Sure, I've read the full book so I have a general idea, but that's going to be veeeery looong. I need to know the essentials of convincing others without writing massive Walls of Text that simply bore the readers and might not even engage them to start reading it at all.
Second, roughly how many are currently estimated to support, or at least know most of TZM's details? Where do we stand now? Where are we thought to be headed? This is a kind of subtle way of asking pretty much "When could the transition be?" as that's something I have great interest in, though I can't deny that it's probably mostly for selfish reasons. I'm not one to take a bullet for someone else, but I do care about others, and I do want the world to be better, for the sake of the world as well.
Third, well, I kind of indicated I'd want answers to this already, but I'll directly ask about it just in case. Is this, or is it not, the kind of topics allowed on this Forum? Are there no "Help" or "Off-Topic" Forum sections that this would be more appropriate for, or is it simply not how this Forum operates? I'd kindly ask for some answers to this before having the topic deleted without any explanation.
Well, that's all. Looking forward to be a part of TZM!
Welcome to this Forum!!!
My hope is that your enthusiasm stays in place, becomes contagious and spreads like wildfire........
If convincing other's about the concepts in TZM Defined were easy we'd be a lot further along by now.......I saw the films when they first came out, have read the Book several times, and have purchased numerous copies that were sent to various alleged 'leaders' of society who 'may' be open to the propositions outlined within... We'll see, heh?
REMEMBER; we've got to convince roughly 6 and a half billion folks into reversing that which they've been conditioned to believe is wrong, that they've been duped or conned....no simple task by any means..
....as I understand it....there's about 2000 folks who visit 'this place' somewhat regularly, but only a handful get involved in any discussions.....Don't really know how many supporters globally????
....the essence of this movement is the ZEITGEIST itself...the one in flux at every waking moment....the one WE all help create....
The only problem you'll get from me is if you present any form of intolerance for another or just intolerance, bigotry, and that ilk against anyone posting....(These kinds of folks do come around from time to time, spreading hate filled crap....so Beware of that....
Debates are fine....I Love to debate.....just try to respectfully disagree more often than the opposite (we can all fail here me too......
Welcome to TZM forum, your positive attitude bring a smile to my face we need more people like you here.
don't worry too much about moderation as its practically non-existent here for better or worse...
as for convincing other people, one of tzm motto's is that people are basically the same, so you can use the same methods that were used to "convince" you on other people - just show them the way, the rest is up to them ....
some people will get it immediately, some people later and some will never get it. people are in different states in their life, different junctions, they also had different upbringing and different environment,... so it should be taken into account.
Your enthusiastic arrival here may I hope remind our members what we are meant to be all about
Like minded people coming together to make the change you want to see in the world.

When talking to people, I do not mention explicitly movements like TZM, simply because there are many different movements with different names, which all incarnate the same worldwide trend. Just mention the possibility for a world without trade and government. People are generally not ready to hear that, it's so permeating every aspect of our lives that it's very difficult to imagine! There are, I think, three convincing points:

3) we are getting disconnected not only from nature but from each other. Humans are meant to live in communities and help each other, not to live stressful isolated lives.

Reason: mention communication tools
