@ Neil....I think you've mis-interpreted Jacque's true meaning....in order to fit your own vision..(as implied in the same interview)...perhaps another 'listen' is in order....

I didn't make any interpretation at all; I posted nothing more than stuff to show something that JF had to say about love. So, what are you talking about? What do you think my interpretation is? What do you think JF's true meaning is? What is my vision?

JF's true meaning? Love ain't BS

Yours? Unknown..... due to multiple adversarial responses, its not entirely clear.....You posted a Headline (obviously seeking some kind of reaction/response and didn't appreciate at least one) ....The Headline was not JF's opinion....did ya bother to listen a second time? ....or a 'first' time?

I just think you're looking for a fight Neil....and since asked....I think that is your vision......its way too easy to be confrontational on the web, aint it?

What do you know when the time is up and the door to the box is opened?
It is not the consciousness of men that determines their existence, but their social existence that determines their consciousness.

How do you know that or figure that that's what his true meaning is? Are you talking about the word or the concept? I think even with the concept he's saying that it's nonsense & he's explaining why.

I myself do happen to think that love is a concept that can and does exist; for example some speak of the unconditional love a mother has for her children.

Anyways, what I'm focused on here in this thread is the application of that word in the context of transitioning to an "RBE" or post-scarcity society. When it comes to that, I think what JF says is relevant - he has an important point to make about it.

My vision is a society where there's no war, crime, corruption, abject hunger & poverty, pollution; it's a world where everybody can be happy and people are no longer fighting with each other, anymore. I think by making government smaller, leaving people alone, and staying out of the way of people trying to make progress in science, education, and technology - we might be able to achieve "my" vision.

I don't know what you mean that I posted a "Headline"; my goal was simple and I think very obvious - I just wanted to make people aware of what JF has to say about love.

Even though I don't feel any obligation to prove anything to you, I've transcribed what they said anyways; I do so because I love you, my friend (See how it can be used to express sarcasm? ):

Rose: You said that love is a bullsh!t word.

Fresco: Well, what I meant by that is I've never met a person that loves everything they've ever done. Sometimes you like yourself a lot; sometimes - down(?) - sometimes, well what a stupid thing I did. So, if you lived with a replica of yourself, how long would you be together?

I'm just looking for answers and explanations; I'm also skeptical and looking to evaluate, challenge, scrutinize, criticize, educate, etc. That's what the scientific method entails. So sure, I am fighting; I'm fighting back against something I see as problematic.

If my confrontation is adversarial to you or anyone else, oh well; how else am I supposed to deal with it? Suppose someone trying to learn math comes up to you and says "2+2=5"; what are you supposed to do with that? Are you supposed to just smile at them and say nothing to them? Is that love?

    aaahh Love ....

That feeling we have for something. Where does it come from? Are we Born with it or do we Learn it? Is it part of Survival or is it just a Passing thing. Is it really as important as we like to think it is or really only just a part of a Deeper Level of emotions we are capable to experiencing.

I think it's there. But I don't think Love is the right word to use for it all the time. Maybe Love is not even the right Word we should be using in the first place. Maybe the Word doesn't even exist yet.

Love...it is the most powerful (least understood) force in the universe. Little if anything would occur w/out it. We'd have little motivation to do anything (including what we 'may' perceive as anti-Love) without Love.

Even working at a crappy JOB is based on Love, Love for self and our survival, most importantly.

Would/could Art or Music or Poetry or dare I say 'commerce' of any kind exist without 'someone' first embracing and expressing Love?

My friends....Love is what keeps us alive, motivated and moving toward an eventual ONEness IMHO......it remains the ONE emotion, the ONE force that gives me any kind of hope in this very troubled World.....

If anyone believes their lives are absent of Love....its because they are looking in the wrong direction..(preferring to dwell in the negative, ignoring positives, seeing only scarcity in the midsts of overwhelming Abundance) ..or have been conditionally and/or socially blinded by this crazy culture we all helped create....and insist on perpetuating.....
