To Rand Paul I can only say..."Good Luck with that"....recognizing that there's also a Bill floating around that will demand/require women to begin registering for the draft....just in case.....

Well, perhaps that's also one of the reasons he's proposing such a bill. You don't want women to be required to register for the draft (and as a matter of fact, anyone else), do you droneBEE? I mean, what's with this "roll eyes" smiley & "good luck with that" unwarranted pessimism? That bill requiring women begin registering for the draft's a good topic for another thread. (Thanks for the suggestion!)

Who's going to fight our Wars?

As long as we keep going to War, these type of programs will have to be around, No? Someone needs to introduce Legislation to end going to Wars. Rand Paul maybe ?

It takes soldiers refusing to fight them, and veterans refusing to support them in order to stop wars....ask me how I know...

As long as the Q was asked; Personally I believe every one of us would be well served by 'serving' in some way....not necessarily in a military capacity, in fact simply helping the less fortunate in our own communities for a few years would be a great way to help HS grads learn to become citizens....instead of just sending them out to seek a JOB.....one they will likely complain about.....one that will likely be eliminated before they can retire....

Lots of Bills are introduced.....most of them go no where....especially some of the best ones.....Rand Paul knows how this all works out....and he also knows his Bill will go no where, knew it before he wrote it..... (for Neil)

There's been an active movement w/in Congress for a while already....with several Bills introduced over several decades....to create a 'Department of Peace'......go ahead and guess where that always ends up.....

    You want Peace...Bee Peaceful....

That's a great idea. They should begin early in Elementary School getting the kids involved in different Community events. All the way into High School teaching kids about Social Concern and their Environments. And this could lead to a 'feeder system' for Future NLRBE Support/Activism when they become Adults.
