    What is Political Economy?

Everyone and anyone posting in this section of the forum ought to at least have an understanding of the following terms IMHO

POLITICAL ECONOMY; The science that deals with the 'Natural Laws' governing production and distribution of valuable goods and services

LAND; The entire material universe, (which no human being created) except for people and the products or ideas we create

WEALTH; Natural Material, provided by the planet which has been transformed either in place or form in order to satisfy human desires. WEALTH is material from the Earth, produced by LABOR, that satisfies humans and has 'exchange' value

LABOR; All human exertion used in production, physical and mental

CAPITAL; Wealth that is used in the production of goods and in the course of exchange

PRODUCTION; All of the processes by which LABOR creates goods and services and brings them to their ultimate consumer

DISTRIBUTION; The division of valuable goods and services among the factors that use them

WAGES; That part of the 'total value' of total production which is supposed to go to LABOR

ECONOMIC INTEREST/CAPITAL YEILD (money for Nothing); That part of the value of production which is given to or returned to capital/BANKS

RENT; (This one trips up everyone who hasn't studied some basic economics) RENT is That part of the value of total production which is supposed to be the "Return (to society) for the use of LAND", and as such remains a critical element that our current corrupt economic system selectively IGNORES, solely for the benefit of the already Well Off, being a part of the major SCAM that's been played on us all. This RENT return 'belongs to the society' that actually creates VALUE for products or places with their presence and purchases, yet we've all been duped into 'giving that RENT' to the WEALTHY who then 'charge humanity (a more familiar form of Rent) to exist....to LIVE.

IMPORTANT; That RENT is our COMMON WEALTH my Friends, and we have been giving it away for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years.......because we like or enjoy the false sense of security we get in following leaders, as people are mostly SHEEP, willing to follow leaders almost anywhere.....even to our own doom...

VALUE; The quantity of LABOR, goods or money that people are 'generally' willing to give up in exchange for something. REMEMBER; Value is something created by Society, not necessarily by entrepreneurs or alleged Job Creators...

MARGIN OF PRODUCTION; The best LAND available without the payment of RENT, hence the best opportunity for producers to be self employed.

    OK, now let's discuss.........

The exhibited indifference toward a topical discussion on Political Economy, how it effects/influences our daily lives, and specifically how its full understanding by the people MUST be part of any 'transition',,, tells this old man why the 'human herd' will simply select to continue its March over the proverbial cliff into the abyss......

In the age of INFORMATION we've collectively stayed on the paths most traveled, following those that are 'selectively' ignorant.....yet are comforting the masses with known (felt?) false promises... WTF???

You've described the ECONOMY sufficiently and not much to about argue there but forgot to describe how the POLITICAL fits in.

So I guess the question that comes to mind here is the question of Value? Who creates the Value of the Land. The ones that produce from it or its resources or the ones who use & demand those products/resources? Who is the more important/valuable participant here? This seems like a fundamental argument where people cant' agree on.

What gives Land/Resources its intrinsic Value? The Planet or Life. Or is it the way we structure ourselves in using these things?

And what is Capital? Can Land/Resources be Capital or is the way we treat & use these things where this conception of Capital arises from?

And who ultimately deserves "Rent"? If Everything begins from the Land, then doesn't that "Rent" go somehow to the Planet? Maybe by taking good care of it. Because If Rent goes to people who own & produce from it, who produces them so to speak. Do they really own anything or does the Land own us? Fundamentally making this whole construct just another idea/belief that WE accept but with no real relationship to how the Natural World works? No Resources, No Land, No Planet, No Us ....

And so on... These questions can probably go on forever.

Sorry...but we must start someplace, no?

TBH; I've grown weary attempting to distill some of the nonsense associated around the subject of Economics and Political Economy, and simply wanted to offer 'one more' opportunity for clear understanding...BEFORE continuing any further.

There folks around TZM who claim to know about economics but are obviously (and purposely) confused, after witnessing the alleged knowledge, so this was an 'attempt' to bring some to those who need to know (Everyone).

Actually the questions were answered a long ago..Only the debating continues..

We have our fellow human beings to Thank for mucking everything up....keeping things confusing enough so that only the so-called experts can explain it to us...

Let's not make this topic more confusing than it needs to be, OK?

VALUE, whether for a place (LAND House or Condo) or a thing, that VALUE is 'always' created by society...simply because we 'want' it....whatever 'it' is...we either make it something of VALUE or not....with our very presence (Makes ya feel kinda important, no?). The primary Class of people disagreeing with this fact tend to be LANDLORDS, BANKERS and CEO's...who are benefiting the most from our current arrangement.... AKA; the GREATEST THEFT EVER!!!

CAPITAL; We cannot make Capital without LABOR first transforming raw material (The Earth) or ideas into WEALTH. LABOR 'always' precedes CAPITAL, NOT the other way around...as we've been 'conditioned' to believe...

SOCIETY, you, me and all our fellow slaves 'deserves' the RENT that is currently used/STOLEN to enrich the already well off members of society...who earn their income off our existence....

Planet EARTH....Nobody made it, everybody needs it....ASK; Why are the masses forced to compensate the Rich just to exist? Why don't we question that irrational situation? Because we've been 'duped'...that's why....because we're 'easy' prey for the Wolves of this World, and the Sheepdogs are growing tired of barking warnings or are fighting for their own lives.....
