right because it's smart to hate things we have No information about? Just hate everything, all day everyday right. Sounds like an excellent way to build Strong Communities, No?

advertising to little children is a huge problem

Obviously you didn't watch the video. So, speaking from ignorance of what's contained in the video, you're proclaiming what is "smart"?

Babies and kids up to 8 yrs of age are selfish, but beyond that they learn to be altruistic.

Younger than 8 years of age, kids desire to take less for themselves as long as it means YOU get nothing. Yes, kids are willing to punish themselves in an effort to punish you even more. Beyond 9 yrs old, they become altruistic because society has taught them so.

    TZM has it exactly backwards.

Watch the video and criticize it rather than being an example of what the video is showing.

Perhaps.... some folks will refuse to watch or even respond to certain vids posted by certain 'assumptive' members, specifically those with their pockets full of preconceived notions, and perhaps due to their past postings that were decidedly and purposely meant to insult, distract, disrupt, inflame, and offend????

    PERHAPS?

IMHO; Some folks shouldn't be allowed anywhere around children..... some should not even be allowed to have them under any circumstances.....Maybe?

Oh.....Although mostly anecdotal, through my own personal observation, experience and evidence that is still ongoing, I remain convinced that we are in fact born trusting and altruistic..

...and that we quickly learn to be mis trustful, self serving, Greedy little pricks.....by watching too much TV.....or too many movies.....or by living with, being raised by Bad Role Models

and BTW....What does any of this have to do with Minsky? or this thread?

All ad hominems aside, TZM still has it backward pending evidence to the contrary. Ignoring evidence while chanting "na na na na" doesn't change reality.

Punish themselves so that they can Punish you more??? So we are Born to see others suffer? There has to be a reason for this and not just because its somehow ingrained in us. That makes no sense. This behavior arises from something. What could that be?

They speculate on that in the video.

Kids get a choice of either 4 chips for themselves and 4 chips for the kid coming in next or 2 chips for themselves and no chips for the next kid. They almost always pick the 2 chips. They'd rather take less for themselves just to give the next kid nothing. What matters is the relative difference.

Like I've said on here many many times... what fun is it being rich if there is no one to be richer than?

And I think that answers my question of why people who make median wage fight viciously to see Warren Buffett "keep" more of "his" money rather than giving it to a teenage minimum wage worker or a single mother on welfare. What's important is being sure that other people get nothing, even if it means giving to those who already have way too much.

It's like Peter Joseph said in this twitter exchange:

And my fav part if Trump wins: the point of realization when the poor, ignorant white masses realize he's not going to do anything for them.

    Paul James ‏@Clydite66 Nov 12
@ZeitgeistFilm @Jezebelled that's the whole point white people dont want handouts we work for a living were not welfare lovers like liberals

    Peter Joseph
    ‏@ZeitgeistFilm
@Clydite66 @Jezebelled I find sad amusement in how you sanctify your own oppression and exploitation, Paul.

    Peter is really sharp!

People sanctify their own oppression to be sure others get nothing, just like the kid choosing 2 chips instead of 4 chips just so the next kid gets nothing. Some people, apparently, don't grow up. Or like they say in the video, that it never leaves us and we have to battle our instincts continually.
