You got that right. It begins in our Educational System. It NEEDS to be Overhauled. Imagine that beginning in the First Grade. All kids were taught Critical Thinking/Rationality skills every year all the way through College. I would love to see that type of experiment take place to see what effects it has on Society.

Because what we have now is pretty discouraging. I mean just trying to have some form of Logical, Coherent discussion about Life issues with family, friends or strangers out there seems like it's becoming harder & harder to do now. Thank goodness for places on the Interwebs where you can still talk about these issues reasonably but out in life, people are seriously filled with a lot of baggage that makes talking about something Significant a hot mess.

    Yeah, that would be cool!

I know what you mean. All I can think is "good fences make good neighbors." Don't get too deep with people or you'll lose friends.

We cannot simply leave education to the so-called educators.... IMO; its been a major part of our alleged failing educational system...not enough community/PARENTAL involvement.

We, as parents, as members of our communities, both large and small must assist in educating our youth and each other....even those who resist LEARNING (I have a couple Teen nieces that already 'know it all' and there's a few that come around here from time to time as well).....We must do our best to openly and generously SHARE what is already FREE.....Knowledge...

    just beware;...and don;t be fooled....

...by those who let us know through their own words/deeds how much they don't really know/care....

That Video makes some sense. It reminds me of how sometimes we might feel 'drained' when we are around others after awhile. I noticed this more in myself the more I've tried to break away from the status quo Mentality and just try to do my own thing. You begin to see things differently and the things in the past that mattered now just seem trivial and pointless. I think a lot of this has to do with people not Evolving enough in their lives. You guys know those people right. The ones that you knew as Teenagers maybe and then you see them again like 20 years later or something and they still pretty much think & behave in the same way.

First we need to teach kids the value of learning .. and how to learn for themselves. Once they understand that no one can prevent them from learning.

From there the role of parents and teachers is facilitators of the child's learning by providing experiences and knowledge materials in response to their questions. Anything else is indoctrination.
"There is no They" ... In as much as we permit things to continue as they are - then we are "they"

Molyneux argued that there are two kinds of people: One who prefers to go to work, come home to watch the tele, go to sleep and repeat. Then there are others who are more curious in life. The two have different goals... one wants to simplify life and one wants to complicate it.

In nature, the smart ones tend to be loners or small groups while the rest tend to be in flocks, swarms, herds.

As you get smarter and start forming opinions on more things, finding a match with yourself becomes increasingly difficult... especially if your opinions challenge the status quo (herd consensus). Thinking "everything will be free one day" will put you at odds with a lot of people. If you can't relate, how can you have a relationship?

Really? Where on Earth do you get this stuff? No, no....let me guess....

Forget Molyneux, he's a Know Nothing....He lives for 'stirring things up'....its his niche....He does what he does for personal gain and profit....thought everyone already knew this......

.....So YOU say, flocks, swarms and herds are dumber than say.....an individual Martin, Badger or Porcupine, heh? This insistence upon categorizing life is at best...disturbing and meaningless.....but alas...it is also very human......

However, Your proclamations about Nature ignores the reality of our Natural World.....getting OUT SIDE, spending some time 'in the natural world' more often is the advise you should seek and that I am offering....for whatever that's worth...

I'm pretty sure a badger is smarter than a flock animal. To survive alone, you'd have to be smart.

Dolphins are in small groups while fish are in huge schools.
Lions are in small prides while wildebeest are in huge herds.
An owl is smarter than a flock of geese.

Also, nocturnal animals tend to be smarter.

Yeah...I Know....you're pretty sure of a lot of things......

Loners, whether they be insect, amphibian or mammal tend to die off sooner than those creatures that evolved to exist in groups, swarms, or herds...(human live longer, have a more enjoyable life in a community of like-minded humans too)....

Although, certain forms of YEAST may be exempted from that assertion......and perhaps....maybe...Humans too eventually We'll all just have to wait and see.....won't we?

What a shame; Here you go again....making assumptions and presenting them as 'the' truth, measuring/determining intelligence, categorizing other creatures w/out truly understanding them, when and where it doesn't really matter (I suppose its easier to ignore the topic or the questions posed that way)....

I think you're spending way too much time inside your own head....or just too much time inside....but somethings up.....that's for sure....
