    > people choose not to work by demanding pay that is too high (ie sense of entitlement).

You know, I've seen a lot of that.

I wonder if its linked to:

Have Sweden?s permissive parents given birth to a generation of monsters? - Telegraph

I've also seen in jobs, how younger folk want to be paid, but not to do any actual hard work !

As such, if you happen to employ only people over say, 50 years, you can be pretty sure the work will get done.

But I wonder, will the 25 year old of today, suddenly change to be a hard worker at 50..

I already see the results of this where I am, because the old folk who know how to do stuff are dying off, and everyone else who is young doesn't know or want to know, how to fix anything, so things start to fall into disrepair.

When the lights go out, they don't even have a torch !

    Me, I've a backup generator. :-)

Yup, that's the sense of entitlement I was on about. People don't want to live like crap and shouldn't have to for the benefit of the 1%. I was one of them when younger. I wouldn't get a job for peanuts and would rather starve than stoop to such. Many of my friends felt the same way... if we can't work for a decent pay, then we won't work at all. Instead, we'll compel others to care for us or else chuck us to the wolves (which they won't). Now that sort of attitude is mainstream and has even infected china.

But then, once their parents die, unless they have some kind of income, how are they going to support themselves and avoid being homeless !

I guess its evolution and natural selection in practice, a slow death for folk with those genes.

At the end of the day, the last person with a job, what will they do when they are made redundant..

I suspect something like Universal Basic Income will help, though it will help to maintain a large genepool, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, as long as the pool doesn't keep getting bigger and bigger and becomes unsustainable.
Well, what I meant was if people are only smart enough for manual labors jobs, but there are no manual labor jobs, then what can we expect of them? We can't ethically let them starve. It would be one thing to let them starve if they were too stubborn to work, but to be too dumb? That's not moral.

There are only two options: Print money and give to them or take from the rich and give to them. Third (less likely) option: Repress progress by banning robots. Fourth (lesser likely) option: Educate the dumb, but even then, will there be enough tech jobs for everyone? Probably not. So, really, only two options.

Holy Crapoly, you mean we have to learn even more Labels!?

When are people going to learn that this is a never-ending journey to Nowhere. You'll just end up all alone with 1000 Labels to your name.

Why is it that people are always looking for specific things to identify with? Could it be that they really don't know what they want and are just trying not to feel so Lost in this World of chaos & confusion? And creating this cycle of new Labels being added to people's lives when the only thing they should be identifying themselves with are those things one finds when looking within themselves and discovering who they Truly are.

Is this something that people aren't able to do out of some intimidation or fear. .... ?

Well, we can't have an alt-right without an alt-left The key is to not let your alt-right hand know what your alt-left hand doeth lol.

I once had a batch of kittens where the tan ones would pile on top of each other to keep warm and the brown ones would do the same at the opposite end of the cage. It was the cutest form of segregation ever seen. Birds of a feather flock together I suppose (even if science says they're colorblind). People need to know who they are so they know which group to assimilate with.

Spare the rod, spoil the child. The problem is people are raising kids and not adults. IMO, kids should have chores and responsibilities delegated to them as soon as possible.

If you take care of people who could care for themselves, then it is natural for them to become reliant on that support. That is why one should never cast a pet out into the wild and the same goes for kids who were raised improperly because they simply don't have the skills to survive in the "dog eat dog" world.

But how you get women to understand that, I have no idea. That's probably why it's not such a great idea to split the family and have single mothers raising kids into kids.

But I wonder, will the 25 year old of today, suddenly change to be a hard worker at 50..
I doubt that. If anything, it's opposite... we can't work as hard as we age.

I already see the results of this where I am, because the old folk who know how to do stuff are dying off, and everyone else who is young doesn't know or want to know, how to fix anything, so things start to fall into disrepair.
I make it my business to be able to fix anything because I can't trust professionals to be professional with their work. It's hard to even trust doctors because although they may have the training (or indoctrination), I remember those slackers from school.

But the generational advantages are double-edged because the older folks can't learn new tech. So in the same way the old guys make fun of the young-ins, the young ones do the same thing about the older.

No, it wasn't an experiment. It just happened that way. I'm guessing the alt-right were the lighter ones and the alt-left the darker lol
